So a bunch of people are unfollowing me because apparently I’m racist and misogynistic because I’m not completely infatuated with Nicki Minaj and sucking her dick about how great she is. And I’m just like.

"Several reasons.
1) I don’t like people with…

It’s okay not to like certain body types, it’s just not smart to openly state it on tumblr because tumblr is over sensitive to everyone’s opinions. I don’t mind the video or the body types, I actually enjoy the feminist agenda in it. The problem I have with that video is that I think it’s gross what it’s literally all ass showing and jiggling in nearly every shot. She’s trying to be a feminist, but at the same time sexual objectifying them. I don’t think your a misogynist for whatever your views are on body types, everyone has different opinions in what they look for in a person.

You just gotta remember people are gonna hate because you got different opinions. Don’t respond to them, because that’s what they want you to do… get mad.

You literally just called a woman gross for taking pride in her own sexuality and choosing how to celebrate it, and actually doing so in a way intended to give confidence to bigger women who are constantly cut down in the media and daily life. This is an issue that particularly affects black women, who typically have larger hips and butts than white women. Beauty standards are aggressively anti-black, telling women that they have to be thin and have smooth hair to be attractive. Nicki Minaj was responding to that.

She’s not ‘trying to be a feminist’, she IS a feminist. So am I. I’m a feminist whether I’m wearing jeans and a big baggy jumper or a mini skirt and a crop top with a push-up bra. I’m a feminist whether I’m writing an essay on the portrayal of women in the history of literature or writing erotica. I’m a feminist whether I’m educating my peers on issues of misogyny or getting drunk at a bar in a low-cut dress. Feminism is defined by your beliefs, not by what you choose to do with your body. If you listen to a song promoting feminist views and call it ‘gross’ because she shakes her arse with confidence, YOU are the one turning her into an object.

Feminism is a belief that people should be given equal opportunities and not be restrained by gender. To make that possible, black women’s bodies have to be celebrated as much as white women’s bodies and fat women’s bodies have to be celebrated as much as thin women’s bodies, because racism and fat-shaming cross over with misogyny so often. This is a woman of colour with big hips and a big butt enjoying her own body in a way that people who look like her are constantly scorned for doing. That is an act of feminism, and you calling it ‘gross’ only goes to show how much more videos like this are needed.

Of course people are sensitive about this. It’s amazing that a song empowering bigger women is having so much success, and people calling the singer ‘gross’ because she owns her sexuality and flaunts it in a way that women (particularly black women) are constantly attacked for while a man doing the same results in a hundred comments along the lines of ‘HE’S SOOO HOT I LOVE HIM SO MUCH’ is insensitive.

It’s fine to have preferences. It’s not fine to call people who don’t meet them gross, particularly not someone who is as excellent a role model as Nicki Minaj.

when someone’s flaws are not flaws in your eyes, you’re fucked.

that in the Chinese version of Disney’s Mulan, the fake name she gives is “Ping”, but her family name “Fa” in English is “Hua” in Chinese, therefore her full name is “Hua Ping”, which is literally “Flower Vase”, and that’s why Shang is so bewildered because it’s a silly name.

but OP how could you not tell them the best part

“hua ping”/flower vase is chinese slang for “camp gay”
